Coaches Wanted
About Us
The Federation Skating Club has been in operation in Edmonton, Alberta since 1947 and is a Skate Canada Sanctioned Club. As a member of Federation SC, skaters registered in any of our programs automatically become members of Skate Canada, the governing body for figure skating in Canada. We are run by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents who have children in our skating programs. Our programs run September-June each year. We are looking for CanSkate and STARSkate coaches.
Requirements
- Be a Skate Canada registered coach in good standing (Please provide a copy of your coach dashboard)
- Be at least CanSkate In Training for coaching CanSkate
- Be at least Regional in Training for coaching STARSkate
- Have taken the STAR 1-5 Training and Assessing Modules to coach STARSkate
Roles & Responsibilities
- Follow Skate Canada Delivery Standards
- Instruct CanSkate and/or STARSkate
- Provide quality lessons to participants in all levels and ages
- Be a team player
Skills
- Be a self-starter, organized, highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable
- Be able to multitask and think under pressure
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be familiar with all disciplines of dance, skills, free skate and interpretive.
Time Commitment
- 1-3 days per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Skating Programs
- Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and STARSkate
Application Deadline
- Until suitable candidates are found.
