Coaches Wanted

About Us

The Federation Skating Club has been in operation in Edmonton, Alberta since 1947 and is a Skate Canada Sanctioned Club. As a member of Federation SC, skaters registered in any of our programs automatically become members of Skate Canada, the governing body for figure skating in Canada. We are run by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents who have children in our skating programs. Our programs run September-June each year. We are looking for CanSkate and STARSkate coaches.

Requirements

• Be a Skate Canada registered coach in good standing (Please provide a copy of your coach dashboard)
•  Be at least CanSkate In Training for coaching CanSkate (Currently only accepting subs)
• Be at least Regional in Training for coaching STARSkate
• Have taken the STAR 1-5 Training and Assessing Modules to coach STARSkate

Roles & Responsibilities

• Follow Skate Canada Delivery Standards
• Instruct CanSkate and/or STARSkate
• Provide quality lessons to participants in all levels and ages
• Be a team player

Skills

• Be a self-starter, organized, highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable
• Be able to multitask and think under pressure
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be familiar with all disciplines of dance, skills, free skate and interpretive.

Time Commitment

• 1-4 days per week (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Skating Programs

• Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and STARSkate
